About the book

The solo singer and head of preparation classes for music education Tamara Kranjec Laganin has written and composed music for 27 music counting-out songs for the collection En, en, ti pa pojdeš ven!, a project that, so to say, cannot be equaled on the Slovenian market. It is a result of many years’ pedagogical work with young children; the author holds workshops all over Slovenia at which she teaches children do physical exercises to music. The workshops are very useful in regards to pedagogical work and work at home, for they can be used as rhythmic games that children can play with their whole bodies or with only individual parts of their bodies. Therefore, possible exercises are added to each counting-out song. In their rhythm of pronunciation, the songs have a certain quality which stimulates rhythms in the child’s body or is in harmony with their natural rhythms (breathing, heart beat). Thus it directly influences the development of ability to memorize. They are especially appropriate for preschool children. The counting-out songs are wonderfully illustrated by Andreja Peklar, this year’s winner of the most beautiful Slovenian picture book award. The music CD which comes with the book has been recorded with the help of a professional studio technician at the studio Avsenik in Begunje together with the pupils of the music school Glasbena šola Radovljica. The kit also contains music score for piano accompaniment that will come in handy to music teachers and educators.
