From 1989 onward he worked for the Electroinstitut Milan Vidmar and took his doctorate at the University of Ljubljana on the subject of wideband amplifiers. He retired in 1994, but continued working as a consultant for the institute for two more years. He later wrote a book together with his colleague Erik Margan, entitled Wideband Amplifiers, which was published by the German publishing house Springer in 2006. The book went out of stock merely after a year and has been reprinted. A review: In this interesting, easily understandable, intriguing and richly illustrated book that will satisfy even the more demanding readers, Peter Staric takes us through the history, development and technology of the first atomic bomb and the lives of people who designed it, as well as its consequences for the humankind. One of the best true Slovenian popular science books of the past years. Samo Rugelj
