About the book

Biomedical insemination: a theoretical and photographic representation of gamete formation, structure and the biomedical insemination techniques (experience from the gynecology clinic in Ljubljana) (new). In the past years, there have been revolutionary changes in the field of reproductive biomedicine concerning the physiological and pathophysiological mechanisms involved in the formation of sexual reproductive cells (gamets) and in insemination. Like elsewhere in the world, we have initiated intensive clinical and research work that has brought many interesting novelties into the diagnostics of healing of infertility. In the “atlas” entitled Od gamet do rojstva, the authors and their collaborators, top experts from the Faculty of medicine, Ljubljana, have included the basic knowledge of the field enriched with personal experience and findings, as well as clinical work results from the field of reproductive biomedicine based on the use of the newly introduced technology. The book presents the new findings on gamets and their activity, insemination, nestling and embryo development, and gives a presentation of sex gland function physiology in the light of new discoveries. This volume is written for everybody who is interested in this field and could make use of this kind of knowledge: students, doctors, biologists, embryologists, histologists, geneticians and others. The main parts of the book: formation of gamets in humans, biomedical insemination, children born with the help of external insemination, ethical issues concerning infidelity treatment, a dictionary of reproductive biomedicine terms.
