About the book
The prose work Temno mesto consists of two parts. In the first story titled Potovanje v New York, the main character is placed in a depressive totalitarian town. Since running is not an option anymore, she gives herself to the light decadent life that is the only counterweight to the destructible totalitarian atmosphere. In the end she is forced to leave which causes her to lose her grip on reality because she is at the same time forced to give up her numerous parties and erotic encounters: the departure from the fantastical and depressive “dark town” is at the same time a return to the emptiness ... The second part titled Bolniška soba številka šest is a poetic story about death and running from it. The main character finds out that she has an incurable disease and finds herself in a world of total loneliness that brings death and the agony of dealing with it in a place where nobody can help her.
