From Prekmurje to Venice. Masquerading, celebrating the Carnival and wearing masks are multilayer phenomena in the historical developmental and in the typological and psychological meanings. Discovering the sources and above all the influences on and motives for dressing up shows a completely different image of the world that has been divided by borders into incomprehensible parts many times. Getting to know the dimensions brought by heritage, in our case the Carnival and the masquerade heritages, could help conquer frequent absurdities and misunderstandings in the modern world as well. The book takes us through the Carnival activities and masquerading of the whole of Slovenia from Prekmurje to Venice by means of color photography and rampant outfits.
