About the book

This book offers a relaxed, popular account of the musicians and music events from Slovenia and abroad. The author drew from the correspondence between composers since he believes that these documents, which speak about their writers and at the same time shed light on the relationships and events from the perspective of the involved, are the most authentic ones. The book strives to fill the gap of the lack of literature about the most famous composers and the Slovenian music history, as well as to remind us of some of the great names in the world and Slovenian music and their works. At the same time, it warns of the endeavors of the Slovenian music culture in the past and of those numerous musicians whose names have been unjustly covered by the dust of oblivion many times before.
